Products should be kept clean for maximum effect. If the textile is dirty, it can hamper the effect. Follow the washing instructions on the product label or on the product page in our webshop.

General advice: Use a mild detergent without enzymes, and let the product air dry. Do not tumble dry. Do not use bleach or fabric softener.

Can the minerals be washed out?

The minerals responsible the effect are melted into the material and cannot be washed out or wear off.

All our products have these three care guidelines in common: they should not be washed at high temperatures, ironed on high heat or tumble-dried.

These precautions are not intended to protect the Back on Track Effect – but the material from which the product is made. That is; to preserve the properties of the fabric, such as stretchiness and shape. The minerals, responsible for the effect, are melted into the threads and therefore inseparable from them.

Horse Rugs

When our horse rugs are treated to withstand weather and storms, they are both water-resistant and breathable.

However, as they become worn, they may need to be impregnated for added protection. When a horse rug is water-resistant, water that gets on the surface will bead up and run off.

If the impregnating agent is worn away, the water droplets can instead penetrate the surface of the fabric.

Care instructions for horse rugs:

WASHING

In order for the rugs to maintain a high performance, it is important to keep them clean and wash them when necessary.

When machine washing, turn the rug inside out and tighten the straps and buckles.

SETTINGS

Different products can tolerate different temperatures, so please always check the washing instructions on the care label before choosing a washing programme. Always choose a gentle cycle.

Use a small amount of detergent.

Avoid detergents with enzymes. Use a mild, liquid detergent. If you use detergents with enzymes, it can reduce the water-proof effect for a long time. This therefore affects the durability of the horse rug.

Do not use fabric softeners, stain removers or bleach.

DRYING

Hang dry your horse rug and avoid tumble drying.

RE-PROOF

Test your rug by dripping water on the fabric. If the water does not form drops, you should re-proof it. Wear gloves and spray the impregnating agent on the outside of the rug.

You cannot use impregnating agents in the form of a detergent as the agent will prevent the effect of our minerals. This means that the impregnating agent can only be used on the outer fabric.
