Our first and most well-known textile technology, Welltex®, is based on the discovery that minerals can reflect body heat in the form of infrared energy - and that this energy appears to have particularly favourable effects on biological tissues. A joint support infused with minerals provides extra support to the joint - but can stimulate blood flow in its immediate vicinity. This makes our braces and supports particularly suitable for people suffering from osteoarthritis.
Osteoarthritis can easily make any kind of movement feel painful. Pain usually signals that something should be avoided - and it is natural to think that sitting still is the best course of action. Instead, people who have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis are encouraged to move, exercise and train to put pressure on their joints and strengthen their muscles.
Cartilage is at its best when there is a reasonable amount of stress on it, just as muscles are at their best when used. Exercise has been shown to be more effective than drug treatment for osteoarthritis, often even more effective than surgery.
Making movement easier with FIR
So, the best thing to do is to make the most of your daily exercise and exercise to the best of your ability, in order to benefit your cartilage and preserve your muscle mass.
Our joint braces and supports can facilitate physical activity by supporting the joint, in combination with the therapeutic effect of far infrared energy (FIR). By capturing and re-emitting this particular (and invisible) part of the light-spectrum, the Welltex® minerals can stimulate local blood circulation and keep muscles and joints warm and supple.
Welltex® for every occasion
The benefits of Welltex® can be enjoyed through several different materials, so you can find the support that best suits your lifestyle and meets your own needs. The Welltex® technology can be applied to many different types of textiles - allowing the effect to be combined with a wide range of material properties.
This has allowed us to develop joint supports that can fulfil many different and varied needs. Osteoarthritis can take many forms and its severity can vary - between individuals, but also over time.
Our Braces and Supports with FIR
Our braces and supports envelop the joint and offer varying degrees of support, depending on the thickness of the material. The more stable a support needs to be, the sturdier the material.
Some joint supports consist of thin and very flexible stretch materials with exceptional breathability. They are discreet and easy to wear around the clock, and can be worn even under tight-fitting clothing.
Very sturdy protectors can be made from materials such as CR - and then have a lining with Welltex technology instead. Perforation of the rubbery exterior facilitate airflow to keep the skin ventilated.
The design may also include supportive elements or built-in accessories, such as flexible springs, strategic seams and anatomically placed reinforcements.
