Back on Tracks back braces and back protectors can help you follow that advice - partly by providing support, and partly through the effect of Welltex®; the textile technology that gives our materials therapeutic properties and can aid in your recovery.

Stiffness and back pain are common. Most people have experienced it at some point - or will experience it at some point in the future. This is because there are a lot of structures in the back that can signal pain, and which can also be relatively easily overworked or incorrectly loaded.

This is why back pain is not usually considered too serious, even though it can cause a lot of pain and definitely interfere with everyday life. The advice, as stated, is usually to carry on as usual; definitely not resort to the bed - but on the contrary, to exercise the back muscles and relieve the pain with over-the-counter painkillers.

The many reasons for back problems

"Back pain" can refer to a whole spectrum of different pain experiences, with widely varying causes and intensity. Sometimes there is a clear explanation for the back pain - such as an event or activity - but sometimes there is none at all. Problems can occur at any age; in those who are very physically active and in those who spend much of their time immobile in front of a computer.

Most commonly, however, the pain is localised to the lower part of the back; the lumbar spine. The discs, joints and surrounding muscles of the spine can all cause discomfort.

Sedentary work often causes back pain due to poor posture, fixed positions and static loading of single structures. This in turn can trigger painful muscle spasms in the back, which in the worst cases lead to even worse malalignments.

If the problems are age-related, they may be due to osteoarthritis. This is a chronic disease that causes the cartilage in your joints to break down faster than it builds up. This also affects the discs between the vertebrae. Thin cartilage weakens the protection and shock absorption abilities of the spine and causes the vertebrae to compress.

The complex architecture of our core

As soon as structures in the back deteriorate, it leads to poorer function. Poor function or a weakness somewhere in a chain of movement often leads to some other structure in the body having to compensate and therefore carry more than it can bear.

The body, like any other load-bearing structure, requires an evenly distributed load to be sustainable. Muscles, tendons, and joints are built to withstand a certain type of stress. If any component is subjected to too much weight, force or wear and tear, sooner or later it will result in pain or injury.

The back, which is literally the central part of the body, is of course particularly vulnerable to the effects of imbalanced biomechanics. Skewed and incorrect loading anywhere in the musculoskeletal system will sooner or later propagate there.

What can Welltex® do for my back?

Back on Track's back braces work by providing support - and by the minerals that are fused into various functional textiles. The beneficial effect occurs when the minerals return body heat in the form of far infrared energy (FIR). This infrared energy can increase circulation and local blood flow, which supports the body's own healing processes. Increased blood flow means more oxygen, and nutrients to the tissues, as well as efficient removal of various waste products.

Infrared energy radiates from the body as part of the body heat emitted to the environment. The mineralised textile materials absorb the long-wave infrared energy fraction and re-emit it back down into the tissues. This is often experienced to relieve discomfort from overworked, cold or stiff muscles and joints.

Air Back Brace

The latest addition to our range is a back brace that combines relieving support, the effect of Welltex® and high breathability. The functional materials allow a lot of air to pass through, without affecting stability or therapeutic effect.

The brace is available in two versions with different back heights. The low one is 16 cm in the center back, which makes it flexible and allows more freedom of movement. The high one is 24 cm in the center back and thus provides more extensive support, and a therapeutic effect over a larger area.

A slat of flexible rails makes the belt stable and supportive. Heavy duty smocked elastics make it adjustable while allowing air to circulate.

Our most classic back brace, quality labeled with our Test of Time seal!

Many of Back and Track's products have a long history of successful practical application. The "Back Brace with narrow front" is one of them. This back brade is well proven and has been making life easier for people with back problems for more than 20 years. It is designed to fit comfortably and can be adjusted to a perfect, individual fit and comfortable pressure.

Minerals fused into the threads of the material reflect the infrared energy naturally emitted by the body - giving the familiar Back on Track effect.

This classic back brace is one of our best-selling products of all time.

Back brace with support

This back belt provides comfortable support, and can be tightened around the waist using a firm hook and loop strap. In the back, over the lumbar region, there is a thin, removable pad to provide extra support exactly at the location of most back problems. The lining incorporates Welltex® technology to re-emit infrared energy exactly where it's needed most.

The "back brace with support" can be worn at any time: while gardening, playing golf, practicing tennis or in front of the computer.

Posture Vest with Welltex®

This sturdy posture vest - lined with Welltex® - is the result of a collaboration between Swedish Posture and Back on Track. The vest combines immediate action (posture correction) with slow-acting, beneficial effects (Welltex® stimulates blood circulation to muscles and joints).

Together, these features reinforce each other's benefits: the vertebrae are straightened - and the muscles can relax.
