The mesh rug with assorted neck cover, our quick wraps and our hock boots have all been given a new and more tailored shape and are fitted with new details, making them more anatomically snug while significantly reducing the risk of pressure and chafing.

The overall goal has been; more form-fitting, flat and more lightweight fastenings, even better functional materials and anatomically placed seams. All to make the products as comfortable as possible for the horse, and as practical as possible for the horse owner and rider.

At the centre, as always, is Welltex® - our therapeutic textile technology. Minerals, embedded in the material closest to the horse’s skin, absorb the infrared energy emitted by the horse's body and emit it back into the tissues. The effect has been found to stimulate blood flow and help reduce stiffness in muscles and joints. Thanks to Linda's upgraded, body-hugging design, the effect is highlighted in a new way.

Tell us what you like best about the new collection!

“Fit is my passion so that has always been my focus. I've wanted to refine the fit of the Royal Mesh Rug for a long time - and now I finally got the chance! In the new version there is more space over the shoulder points, thanks to "invisible" gussets, which give the horse great freedom of movement. The new Royal Mesh Rug Deluxe is also less deep and has no tail patch, which makes it more suitable for use under a turnout rug - it doesn't hang down or stick out from under it.

But I'm actually most proud of our new quick wraps: the Royal quick wraps Deluxe! All layers, including the padding, are form-fitted and closely follow the anatomy of the lower leg. They are specially designed to avoid pressure on the tendons and are slightly flared both at the top and bottom as to not restrict, chafe or impede movement. The design is unique and is now also pattern protected.

I have also reshaped our hock boots and implemented the same improvements there: the boots are more snug and fit better around the leg with minimal pressure on tendons, muscles and nerves. They also go higher up the leg and have a more rounded contour. They stay put, but they don't congest!”

Is there anything in particular to consider if you want to upgrade your favourites to the products in the new collection?

Sizes are becoming more important! All products are more moulded, anatomically designed and form-fitting. This means that it becomes much more important to measure your own horse and check our size charts before choosing a size.

What can you say about the new materials in the Royal Deluxe collection?

The inner padding of our new quick wraps has been reinforced at the bottom with a water-repellent material, making them more durable and resistant to moisture and dirt.

The mesh rug is of course one of our absolute best sellers, mainly because of the Welltex® effect. The new lining has the same ability to reflect infrared energy and the same excellent breathability - but is more tightly woven to give it a slicker surface. This reduces the risk of the fabric getting caught in the horse's hair. The same fabric is used to line the neck cover.

Fastenings and buckles are lightweight and flat. For example, the neck cover is attached to the mesh rug using flat hook and loop straps around metal rings. It is also possible to attach to the halter. The cover is closed at the front by means of lightweight T-buckles.

We have also worked on the seams; both the durability and the placement. The seams exposed to most of the wear and tear have been reinforced, and they are all carefully positioned so that they don't press, chafe, cause congestion of blood flow or restrict freedom of movement.

The hook and loop straps on the hock boots is split in two over the tip of the hock, so that nothing rubs against the joint. I have carefully studied horse's anatomy and worked with a vet in order to achieve a design without any pressure points on sensitive structures. We are very pleased with the end result!

Finally; which is your favourite colour?

The collection comes in black, green, red, brown or blue. They all look great together and can be mixed and matched. Most of Back on Track’s items are black, but I have two favourites in this collection: red and blue!
