Since there are so many different types of dog dog coats on the market, we also want to take the opportunity to tell you more about what makes Back on Track's dog dog coats different from all the others! The most important thing, in fact, is invisible to the naked eye.
All Back on Track dog coats have the ability to reflect infrared energy (FIR) from the dog's own body heat. This effect is believed to both increase well-being and stimulate blood circulation, having a beneficial effect on stiff joints and tense muscles.
Therapeutic effect through FIR
The material closest to the dog always contains our unique Welltex®️ or Iontex®️ technology. In practice, this means that minerals are permanently fused into each thread. It is thanks to these minerals that the infrared part of body heat can be captured and reflected into the tissues.
The therapeutic effect of FIR stimulates blood flow and promotes good mobility in the dog's muscles and joints.
Increased blood flow is also favourable to the body's own healing processes. Therefore, the effect is often perceived to speed up recovery and also alleviate problems such as swelling and inflammation.
The most important factor in choosing a dog dog coat: your own dog's needs
What type of dog do you have?
Different dog breeds have different fur quality and different body types. As a result, they are also more or less able to stay warm. Your dog's characteristics therefore determine when your dog needs a dog dog coat - and what type of dog dog coat it needs.
For example, a heavily built dog with dense, thick fur is well adapted to a cold climate. It will have less need for insulating fill - but may still appreciate a rain cover to keep it dry and comfortable in all weathers. A dog with a graceful build and a short, thin coat is much less tolerant of the cold and will need help to stay warm as soon as it gets chilly. If the dog has no fur at all, it should wear a dog dog coat even indoors.
We offer dog coats specially designed to suit certain specific body types, such as larger, muscular dogs, fine-limbed greyhounds, very small dogs or dogs with long backs and short legs. Dogs can also have high or low set tails, making some models more suitable than others.
What our dog coats have in common is that they are highly customisable to the individual dog, thanks to thoughtful design.
Find the perfect coat for your dog!
Mesh Dog Coats - cool, light airy and all-round
The Back on Tracks Mesh Dog coat is a multifunctional coat that can be used all year round, both indoors and outdoors. Air circulates freely through the outer layer made from a mesh material, and the lining is highly breathable. A light and flexible mesh dog coat is therefore excellent even in summer. In winter, it can be used under other coats.
Use the dog coat before and after physical activity to give your dog the best conditions for both performance and recovery. Perfect for car journeys! Many people use the dog coat indoors because of its therapeutic properties.
The Mesh Coat is available in several sizes to suit both small and large dogs. There is also a special dog coat intended for dogs with proportionally long backs and short legs. This coat can also be worn by dogs like the Corgi, Basset and Drever.
Raincoats - protect against wind and water
Our raincoats have an outer layer of water-repellent material and feature taped seams. All materials are highly breathable so that the dog coat does not become too tight and warm. The lining contains Welltex®️ or Iontex®️.
The Back on Track Standard Dog Coat is a beloved, easily recognisable classic that comes in several variations and many sizes. It is also available for dog breeds with long backs and short legs. In its simplest form, it is a multifunctional, thinner dog dog coat that protects against rain. A Standard Dog coat with filling will also insulate and keep the dog warm in cold weather. Such a dog coat is an excellent choice for winter.
With a dog raincoat from Back on Track - with or without filling - your dog stays dry, warm and comfortable in all weather conditions.
In addition to our standard dog coats, we also offer dog coats with an updated, innovative design to meet specific requirements or suit certain body types.
"Nella" is a dog rain coat specifically created for dogs with a normal to athletic build and a low tail set. It is designed to maximise freedom of movement while protecting key muscle groups. It also goes down over and protects the root of the dog's tail, which can reduce the risk of "water tail" - a painful condition that can occur when the dog is exposed to the cold and especially to cold water.
"Bark" is the equivalent, but made for dogs with a set high tail.
Both are perfect choices for active dogs in chilly weather and are durable enough to withstand heavy use in the woods and fields.
"Stanley" is a further development of the Standard Dog coat with filling, but has a more body-hugging fit. The design suits dogs with a low tail set and a slightly narrower build.
"Sunny" is the equivalent, but made for dogs with a high set tail.
These dog coats are excellent for winter, with their water-repellent surface and insulating layer.
"Buddy" is a dog rain coat featuring a fleece collar and a filling, and is designed to fit dogs with proportionally long backs and short legs. This makes it an excellent winter dog coat for Dachshunds and other breeds with a similar body type.
Our Whippet Dog Coat offers the same very material properties and careful design, but is specially adapted to the characteristic physique of the cold-sensitive greyhound.
Fleece Dog Coats and Dog Sweaters – warm softness closest to the dog
Fleece dog coats and dog sweaters from Back on Track present all the benefits of the selected material; they are warm, soft and comfortable, and will protect your dog from cold and wind.
The Fleece Dog Coat is a supple and flexible fleece coat with many uses. It is ideal for warming up, winding down and recovering; to be worn indoors or outdoors. In cold weather, it can be used under another dog coat. This dog coat is highly customisable thanks to its adjustable buckle and elasticated drawstrings at the collar and front. At the back there is a zip to accomodate dogs with a high tail set. Put it on your dog between competition and training activities to help them keep their muscles warm.
Our dog sweaters are pulled over the head like a piece of clothing and are perfect as an extra layer under other coats, but can also be worn alone. Dress your dog in layers, and you can continue to use a multifunctional, thinner dog coat even when it gets cold!
"Cassie" is a versatile fleece sweater that provides your dog with plenty of warmth and protection, thanks to both the properties of the material and the design. The sweater covers the upper part of the front legs and chest, and wraps around the neck and throat.
"Eddie" and "Eddie Petite" are suitable for all types of dogs of a smaller stature. The model is available in two colours; classic black or bright orange, for maximum visibility in the forest and countryside. The "Eddie" dog sweaters also have a stretchy, slightly water-repellent outer fabric.
Quilted dog coats - for warm and stylish walks
The dog dog coats of the Haze and Nights Collections are both functional and easy to use. They are also extremely stylish! They match other products in the corresponding collections, such as jumping or dressage saddle pads and horse hoods.
The Haze Collection is available in two muted colours: warm mottled brown and cool misty grey. The dog coats are warm and comfortable and, like the saddle pads, feature faux fur and embroidery in either brown or black.
The Nights Collection dog coats are available in burgundy and navy blue, with an eye-catching embroidered Back on Track wing emblem.
Cool on Track Cooling Dog Coat - making the summer better for your furry family members
A few months a year a new type of problem arises; keeping cool. Dogs are strongly affected by heat, so it's important to make sure they don't overheat. Their fur quickly absorbs energy from sunlight and also insulates them, making it difficult for them to regulate their body temperature. Dogs, as we know, lack the ability to sweat.
Cool on Track™️ is a technical material with high absorption capacity. It absorbs soaks up large amounts of water, which then evaporates through the large mesh material of the surface. The simple evaporation of water is capable of reducing the temperature by about 6°C. No chemicals are involved and no freezer or cooling block is needed.
The Cool on Track™️ Dog Coat wraps around the dog, covering a large part of the body surface. The material retains its cooling capacity as long as it remains wet. When the dog coat dries, just wet it again. Very practical to take with you on excursions and travelling!
An easy, convenient solution
A cooling dog dog coat is a handy and practical solution that reduces the risk of overheating and heat stroke. The instructions are the simplest possible: Soak in water, squeeze out excess liquid, use!
Our popular Cool on Track™️ Dog Coat cools a large part of the dog's body and also protects it from the strong sunlight. Sturdy hook and loop straps around the belly and chest ensures that it stays in place even when active.
